Latest Game In Development

With any new software there’ll always be a learning curve and that’s exactly how we’re approaching the new shiny Buildbox 2. Jilly and I have been working super hard getting to know all the great new features now included and we have to say it’s awesome!

We always knew it would take a while to get up to speed so our latest project is certainly taking way longer than normal, but it’s also by far our biggest game to date and we’re packing tons of great content in 🙂 In fact, there’s probably at least 5 games in one with 16 unlockable characters, 3 full story worlds along with 4 arcade modes, it’s a beast but we’re making great progress.

So to sum it up for now, here’s our Buildbox 2 training game and we’re loving what the 8cell team are doing and where they’re taking the software.

Here’s some screenshots and video’s to give you a taster:

We’ll be posting some more stuff as we get a little further on 😉

Heads down into Buildbox 2 & Interview Link

We’ve been heads down of late getting to grips with all the new features in Buildbox 2 and super impressed especially with the scope of the new UI system, it’s very cool! Here’s a glimpse of what we’re working on at the moment.

We’ll posting more as we go along so watch this space but this is by far our most largest project to date. We’ve barely scratched the surface yet but it’s clear that this new version opens up a ton of new options for our future projects, pretty exciting stuff.

Here’s what the backbone UI structure is currently looking like:

I was also really honoured to speak with Tiana from the Buildbox team and we discussed level design, workflow, Buildbox and more. You can read the full interview here.

3 Games now Live on the Windows 10 Store

We were thrilled to hear that the Buildbox team officially announced Windows 10 support last week and didn’t waste a moment to port our games onto the store! As with moving onto any new platform for the first time there was a fair bit to learn, but the process was pretty straight forward although the non standard asset sizes was a bit of a pain.

So without further ado, here’s some Free Fun for your desktop! Parallels, Chaos Chambers and Hex Brutal now available on the Windows 10 Store, you’re welcome 🙂 Links below!

Color Maze Featured By Apple in Games We Love

Thursdays are alway tense on launch days! The Apple appstore refreshes around 5pm UK time so there’s always a fair bit of hitting refresh around that time, we try not too, but we always fail!

We were completely thrilled to see Color Maze Featured across Europe in the newly titled “Games We love”!

Time will tell to see how well the game does, but right now it’s at No.11 in Puzzle and No.32 in Arcade UK ( about the same in other countries )

You can grab the game here to take it for a spin 🙂
